The program does not require the completion of finished works or an exhibition. Instead, it is designed to provide artists with the time and working environment to deepen their practice and thinking in a new setting.
Applications are reviewed based on the submitted materials and residency proposal. An online interview may be arranged if necessary before a final decision is made.
The specific residency period will be arranged individually, taking into consideration the schedule of regular exhibitions and other programs at artcenter NAZUKARI WAREHOUSE.
Travel, accommodation, production, materials, and other expenses required for participation are, in principle, the responsibility of the participating artist.

This program is not open to public applications.
It is intended for artists who meet either of the following conditions:
-
Artists introduced by gallerists, curators, artists, or others with whom artcenter NAZUKARI WAREHOUSE has established relationships
-
Artists who have previously participated in the Research / Production Residency at artcenter NAZUKARI WAREHOUSE
As a general rule, the exhibition will be held as a solo exhibition using the exhibition spaces at artcenter NAZUKARI WAREHOUSE.
The gallery is generally open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from 12:00 to 18:00.
The specific schedule will be arranged individually, taking into consideration regular exhibitions and other programs at artcenter NAZUKARI WAREHOUSE.
For inquiries about this program, or if you would like to recommend an artist, please contact us.
We will provide detailed information regarding participation requirements and program conditions.
Workspace
Artists participating in the Artist in Residence Program may use an approximately 14 m² workspace within the shared studio at artcenter NAZUKARI WAREHOUSE.
Depending on the media, materials, techniques, equipment, or production methods involved, we may be unable to accept a proposed project or may need to place restrictions on certain production activities due to the facility environment, safety considerations, or potential impact on other users.
Please inform us in advance about the nature of your proposed work when applying or making an inquiry.

During the residency, artists may choose from the following accommodation options.
